Bernardo Rodriguez is an artist and Illustrator whose journey from the Dominican Republic to New York City has profoundly shaped his creative narrative. Specializing in intricate and detailed illustrations, his work often explores the human experience, drawing inspiration from the vibrant streets of New York and the intimate moments of daily life.
Over the years, Bernardo has collaborated with a variety of clients and organizations including The New Yorker, Isolated Labs, The Marshall Project, RH, The Innocence Project, Wildlife Conservation Society, DemocracyNYC, Domus Magazine, Soho House, VaynerMedia, VaynerSports, DailyOrange, Trop Hot Sauce, and Nike. His ability to capture the essence of his subjects with precision has earned him international recognition, with his work appearing in major publications and exhibitions worldwide.
In 2022, Bernardo earned his MFA from the School of Visual Arts, where he was honored with the Paula Rhodes Memorial Award for Excellence in Illustration. He was also chosen as the commencement speaker for his graduating class, delivering his speech at the iconic Radio City Music Hall.
Bernardo's artwork has been showcased in both galleries and museums, including SVA's Chelsea Gallery, Peekskill's H-Art Gallery, Viktor Koen’s Poster Show in Athens, Greece, 13 Frost Gallery in Brooklyn, Syracuse University's Gallery in Florence, Italy, and the Long Island Museum. His commitment to authentic storytelling is further reflected in his role as a Senior Artist & Studio Assistant at Isolated Labs, where he collaborated with internationally renowned artist Tavares Strachan for 3 years.
